We had a different format this year, adding CME.
The thought was, if you had to be there overnight, why not,add some educational value?
There were several speakers, some on the cynical issues, others on clinical.
ACOs were much discussed.
All elections to the Board's open at-large seats were uncontested. The open seats went to Brian Privett, MD, Cedar Rapids and Scott Truhlar , MD, Iowa City.
Dr. Shi, Dr.. Galli and Dr. Cordovi represented our region to the state gathering. All were present, participating, and pedantic. (I couldn't find an alliteration with which to close.)
There were several technical resolutions relating, for example, sunsetting (rescinding) non relevant positions, details on request. Iowa Psychiatric Society proposed putting the brakes on connecting MOC, a professional issue and MOL, (licensure) which is a state/legal issue. It passed with a little modification. There was a resolution requesting AMA to get definitive guidance from CMS
